Underground Comix Book

Air Pirates Studio formed in the summer of 1971 in San Francisco around the leadership of cartoonist Dan O'Neill.  The goal was to use classic cartooning to tweak the Disney Corporation's nose, among other things.  Disney responded with a lawsuit, and many copies of Air Pirates Funnies #1 were seized and almost all of Air Pirates #2.  A third book, The Tortoise And The Hare was not seized, but was shunned by distributors as potential trouble.  Other, non-Disney titles escaped the injunction. I have a few copies of this available in the merchandise section, but not the original art.
